The team from Murdoch University's Cetacean Research Unit has finished up after a productive month in the field here at KMRS. Lead by PhD candidate Alex Brown, the team spent the past 4 weeks on the water in the Murdoch Uni research vessel "Blue Steel" gathering data on near-shore dolphin species including the bottlenose, Indo-pacific humpback & Australian snubfin dolphins. The team was also joined by supervisor Dr Simon Allen during the last week of sampling.
It has been an absolute pleasure hosting Alex, Jo & Kelsey and we wish them all the very best for the next leg of their field work which takes to them to Wyndham & the Cambridge Gulf in the north-east Kimberley. We look forward to hosting Alex at KMRS again in September for another month-long field trip.
